Healthy food doesn't have to feel like health food.
Clean Eating was one of my signature HealthiNation cooking series, hosted by wellness expert and Be Well with Arielle founder Arielle Haspel. The series featured approachable recipes designed to make healthier eating feel practical, appealing and genuinely delicious.
The series developed an audience beyond HealthiNation’s primary digital platforms as well. Over the years, viewers told me they had unexpectedly encountered episodes while sitting in doctors’ offices and even while watching programming aboard flights—a reach that reflected HealthiNation’s broader distribution network.
I created Clean Eating as an original HealthiNation cooking franchise and recruited Arielle Haspel to host it. She already had credibility and an established following in the healthy-eating space, making her a natural personality around whom to build the series.
From the beginning, I designed the production for both quality and scale.
We typically filmed three to four recipes per day over three to four production days, allowing a single shoot to generate as many as 12 complete recipe episodes. But the full-length recipes were only the beginning of the content plan.
Each recipe was also designed to generate approximately five to seven additional short-form pieces for digital and social distribution. At full scale, one production cycle could therefore yield 12 primary episodes plus 60–84 supporting assets—potentially 72–96 individual pieces of content from several days of production.
That efficiency was designed into the production rather than discovered afterward. Recipes, coverage and shooting schedules were planned around the different ways the material could ultimately be used, allowing Clean Eating to function as both a recognizable cooking franchise and a repeatable content engine for HealthiNation’s distribution platforms.
