I created Book Your Next Romance after recognizing an opportunity within one of publishing’s most popular genres. Romance had an enormous and passionate readership, but for someone approaching it for the first time, the sheer number of authors, styles and subgenres could make figuring out where to begin surprisingly complicated.

I thought we could create an entertaining entry point.

Working with Hachette’s romance publishing team, I recruited Maddie from the imprint to serve as our on-camera guide. Rather than bringing in an outside host, I wanted someone who already understood the books, the genre and its readers—and could speak about them with genuine enthusiasm and authority.

I developed the series as a beginner-friendly guide to romance, starting with this introduction and expanding into episodes covering the major genres and subgenres readers would encounter.

The objective wasn't simply to promote individual titles. It was to create useful, personality-driven programming around an entire category—helping new readers understand the landscape while naturally creating opportunities to discover Hachette’s romance catalog along the way.
