Is there really an art to taking a good nap?
In The Art of Napping, host Adesina Sanchez explores one of sleep’s simplest pleasures—and one that’s surprisingly easy to get wrong. Through a mix of expert insight and lifestyle segments, the episode looks at how napping fits into healthy sleep, when a quick daytime rest can be useful, and how to make the most of it without interfering with a good night’s sleep.
Part of The Right Side of the Bed, the episode brings the series’ playful approach to an everyday sleep habit while grounding the conversation in practical sleep science.
I created The Right Side of the Bed with the National Sleep Foundation as a 10-episode series combining expert sleep information with approachable, lifestyle-driven storytelling.
Like the rest of the series, The Art of Napping was assembled through modular production. Host material, specialist interviews, location remotes and other segments were captured in separate production blocks over several weeks, allowing us to organize shoots around locations, talent and expert availability rather than producing each episode sequentially.
Those individual pieces were then shaped in the edit into themed episodes, with Adesina providing the personality and continuity that connected them.
Working with the National Sleep Foundation also gave us access to specialist expertise, while HealthiNation’s medical-review process ensured that the health information remained accurate. My job was to turn that material into something that didn't feel like a medical lecture—using the magazine format to make a subject like napping informative, practical and entertaining.
