I created Book Your Next Romance around a simple audience need: romance was one of publishing’s biggest categories, but its size and variety could make the genre intimidating for someone who didn't already know where to begin.
After introducing viewers to romance in the first episode, this installment was designed to provide the next layer of orientation—breaking the category into three major genres before subsequent episodes explored individual areas in greater depth.
I produced the series modularly, using the same content-optimization philosophy I applied to my author interviews. Each topic was developed before production as its own video, with a clear premise and enough substance to stand independently.
That allowed us to record multiple episodes efficiently during the same production while still treating each one as a distinct piece of programming—not excerpts cut from a longer conversation after the fact.
The result was a series that could guide viewers progressively: introduce the category, map the landscape, then dive deeper into the individual genres that interested them.
