What is Crohn’s disease—and what does a diagnosis actually mean?

In this HealthiNation clinical overview, Dr. Felder explains the fundamentals of Crohn’s disease, helping viewers understand the condition and how it affects the digestive system.

Designed as an accessible introduction for patients and caregivers, the video translates clinical information into clear, approachable guidance—giving viewers a foundation for better understanding the disease and the conversations they may have with their healthcare providers.

How it was made

HealthiNation produced a significant amount of physician-led clinical programming alongside its lifestyle and original series, and these projects required a different kind of storytelling discipline.

The goal wasn't simply to put a doctor in front of a camera and record an explanation. Complex medical information had to be organized, clarified and visually supported so that someone without a medical background could actually understand it.

For this Crohn’s disease overview, I worked with Dr. Felder’s expert commentary as the foundation, then developed the editorial and visual presentation around it. Editing, graphics and supporting imagery were used to break complicated information into understandable ideas while keeping the physician—and the credibility of the medical information—at the center of the piece.

These videos also operated within HealthiNation’s medical-review process, so accessibility couldn't come at the expense of clinical accuracy.

That balance defined much of the medical content I developed and produced there: make the science accurate enough for the experts, but clear enough for the people who actually need to understand it.
