I created Book Your Next Romance as an accessible, personality-driven guide for readers who were curious about romance but might not know where to begin. Rather than trying to explain the entire genre in one video, I designed the series as a collection of focused episodes, with Maddie from Hachette’s romance publishing team serving as our guide.

I produced the series using the same content-optimization philosophy I brought to my author interviews: develop the individual topics before production so that each discussion is designed to become its own standalone video.

That meant a single production session could generate multiple complete episodes rather than one long conversation that would later be chopped into clips. After establishing the fundamentals of romance, individual installments could dive into specific areas of the genre—including historical, contemporary and, in this episode, paranormal romance.

The approach made the production efficient without sacrificing editorial purpose: every topic had its own premise and audience value before the cameras started rolling.
