Gluten-free doesn't have to mean flavor-free.
Gluten-Free Tasty was my first original cooking series for HealthiNation, featuring a rotating group of hosts demonstrating approachable recipes designed to make gluten-free cooking appealing to everyone—not only people following a gluten-free diet.
This episode features food and wellness personality Phoebe Lapine, bringing her relaxed, engaging presence to the kitchen.
The series went on to become an award-winning HealthiNation franchise, earning a Silver W³ Award, a Bronze Telly Award for Best How-To Content and a Web Health Award.
Gluten-Free Tasty was my first opportunity to develop a recurring cooking format for HealthiNation, and it helped establish an approach I would continue refining across several later food and lifestyle series.
One important part of that process was finding personalities who could make health information entertaining rather than clinical.
I discovered Phoebe Lapine through her work on Instagram and immediately thought she had the qualities I wanted in an on-camera host. She was charming, engaging and genuinely enjoyable to watch—someone who could make viewers feel as though they were cooking alongside a knowledgeable friend rather than watching an instructional demonstration.
Because the series featured multiple hosts, each personality could bring something different to the format while the underlying concept remained consistent: approachable recipes, clear instruction and food that looked genuinely appetizing.
Gluten-Free Tasty became the foundation for the cooking franchises I developed afterward—combining talent discovery, accessible health information and entertainment-driven production into a repeatable format.
